Beach Clean Up / Bonfire

On September 30th, 2017, Modern Enlightenment went out to Bolsa Chica State Beach and did a clean up around Tower 17. Almost 30 volunteers came out and participated. Ice breaker games were conducted and organized by the Directors to make sure everyone knew each other and was comfortable. Freshly grilled food were prepared for the volunteers to make sure everyone was fed. We ended the night with a bonfire and eating s’mores.

We like to give special thanks to all the Directors that worked together to make this event not only possible but also successful as well. We also like send a special shout out to the Montebello Youth Leadership Club for coming out and support Modern Enlightenment. We look forward to working with everyone again soon!

Modern Enlightenment presents “Beach Clean-up and BBQ Bonfire”.

Come out and join us on a fun filled day doing good for the beach and ocean.

We will start the day cleaning up the Bolsa Chica State Beach.

Afterwards, we’ll enjoy the hard day’s work with a BBQ bonfire and good old fashion company.

Stay tuned for a schedule of activites. Check in is required as well as permission slips for those that are under 18.

This event is organized by a non-profit organization so your $10 contribution will cover your bus transportation, lunch, dinner and beach clean up supplies!

Please sign up on the rsvp google document. This is to ensure that we have enough food to provide for our attendees.
We need a minimum number to rent a bus. So make sure to fill out as much of the google document as you can so that we can accomodate you better.

As standard for all beach bonfires, please make sure to bring protective beach items like sunblock!

Hope to see you all there 🙂

Operation Feed The Homeless

Operation Feed The Homeless – January 7th, 2017

January 2017: Operation Feed The Homeless

:: Four years ago, Operation: Feed the Homeless was founded on one simple idea–to pass out hamburgers to the homeless. This year, it evolved into a full scale operation. With the help of 55 volunteers, we served and donated 125 sleeping bags, 480 rolls of toilet paper, 200 beanies, 200 pairs of gloves, 500 pairs of socks, 100 sweat shirts, 100 sweat pants, 150 blankets, 34 bags of old clothing and other daily necessities. We also served 800 portions of hot meals consisting hot wings, chow mien, fried rice, orange chicken, beef broccoli and egg rolls. We are beyond excited and humble of the growth, however, it cannot be done without your support. Thank you so much to all the donors and volunteers for their time and resources. Thank you to our amazing directors, Tammy Ly and Jimmy Nguyen, for their help in making this event possible. We are truly grateful for all your help and support. Thank you so much for believing in our mission. We can only imagine how awesome the future will be 🙂
